I recently started making a list of the stamp sets that I had purchased since I joined Stampin' Up! I have quite a few, so its going to take a while.
Of course, I got distracted while I was doing it and started to make a card with one of the earliest stamp sets that I bought. It is called Balloon Celebration.
This stamp set has a matching punch that has two balloons one larger and other smaller.
I needed a birthday card for a friend, and I know she loves pink.
The first thing I did was make a stencil. Just take a scrap piece of cardstock and punch both balloons.
Then using a dauber and the ink pad, I gently applied ink through the balloon stencil onto a mat of Whisper White. These daubers are brilliant! as long as you apply with light taps, you get quite an ethereal effect... and no ink all over the fingers.
I stamped the balloon outline on the stamps at the front and the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment with Sweet Sugarplum ink. I drew the balloon strings with a fine pencil and just added a few jewels.
When I finished I attached the stamped layer onto a mat of Berry Burst, and then attached both to a card base of Whisper White card.
I hope you enjoy seeing this card.
Here are the products I used to make it.
