Thank you for stopping by.
It's week three of October, gosh where has this month gone? Here is another project using the Balloon Celebration stamp set.
Yes, you are seeing correctly, there is a hole in the front of the card so you peek through ))
After I had cut and folded my card base, I punched out a 21/4" circle in the top right hand corner.
I punched 4 balloons (2 small and 2 large) out of Designers Series papers from the Quilted Christmas paper stack. There are some lovely paper in this pack, I chose some that were Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler. I also punched 2 balloons in Cherry Cobbbler (one large and one small) and the same in Old Olive.
I cut a strips of Whisper White and DSP (I used the same as my balloons to tie it in) measuring 3/4" x 3".
On all but one of the cardstock balloons I stamped the balloon shadow pattern using Versamark and then added Silver Embossing powder before 'cooking' it with my heat tool.
Tip: Don't forget to use your Embossing buddy, it really does make a huge difference )).
On the other I stamped 'Hooray' from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. Yes it fits! I used Versamark and silver embossing powder again and heat embossed.
Next the slightly tricky bit, I played around for a bit, gettng the balloons in the right place, particularly as I didn't want the one that said Hooray on the inside to show through the punched circle, but I did want the balloons on the inside to fill the circle punched out of the front.
The curly strings are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.
I punch some extra balloons from Whisper White to place over the back of the ones added to the front of the card, just to neaten it all up.
I stamped the sentiment (from Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set) onto a piece of Whisper White. Then I layered this onto the two strips cut from matching DSP.
Before adding my sentiment to the front of the card, I stamped long balloon strings with Smokey Slate as I didn't want them to be too dark, and then added the sentiment across the point where they all met.
That's it - another project done )).
Don't forget to pop over to Lea Denton's page for her project for this week
Bye for now
