One of the things I love to do is show people how easy it is to make anything from card and paper.
This week, I was invited by the ladies of the Harracott Womens Institute to attend their monthly meeting.
Some of the fun of being invited to an event like this is the preparation; thinking about what the projects will be, working out the sizes, the colours the stamps to use - yes every project has a element of stamping )) The packing and getting ready as usually as well as taking the bits and bobs needed for the project I take along some Stampin' Up! goodies and projects I have made.
This is the goodies that each person received along with the stamp set to be used
The first of the projects is a box with a lid
Cut Shaded Spruce cardstock to 10 1/2" x 6"
On long side score at: 1 1/2", 4 1/2", 6", 9" 10 1/2"
On short side score at:1 1/2" from each edge
Under the Mistetoe Designer Series paper = 2 3/8" square
Silver Glimmer paper = 1" x 3 1/2"
Piece of Whisper White for Stamping and Shaded Spruce cardstock for punching.
How to make
Fold and burnish all the score lines
Cut along all of the score lines on both sides of the long side
Trim to take a tiny wedge off each side of the small flaps
Make the base part first. Add liquid glue to the middle small flaps on either side and attach and line up to closest score line. At other end, add glue and attach to sides to make the base of the box.
To make lid, fold down over base and fold in flaps add glue to the flaps and attach and glue to the inside of the sides.
Using a 1" circle punch, punch a partial hole in lid to create a thumb hole.
Add DSP to top of box
Punch or cut fishtails to piece of Glimmer card.
Stamp sentiment to Whisper White and punch out shape using coordinator punch.
Punch out shape from cardstock using same punch
Add strip of Glimmer paper to top of the box.
Add stamped peice to top of punched peice laying them at 45degree angle.
Add both to the top of the Glimmer paper
Hey presto! a box with a lid.
The finshed box measures 2 1/2" x s 1/2" and is 1 1/2" deep.
The box will fit 4 Ferrero Rocher chocolates, or as you can see a heap of Werther' Original sweets.
Happy Crafting!
